Harley A. Forwood

Harley A. Forwood, 90, of Ephrata, PA and formerly of Glenn Mills, PA and Bound Brook, NJ, passed away at home on Saturday, July 7, 2018. Harley is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Joyce E. (Mellinger) Forwood; his brother-in-law's and sister-in-law's: Edward and Dauna Mellinger, Gerry and Sue Mellinger, all of Ephrata, PA, and Dawn Troutwein of Southampton, NJ; and a number of nieces and nephews, grandnieces and nephews, and great-grandnieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Laura (Eachus) Forwood; his three brothers: Joseph, Lewis, and John Forwood; and one brother-in-law, Roland Mellinger. Harley worked for the former F.W. Woolworth Company as a Retail Sales Warehouse Manager for many years and most recently as a School Bus and Van Driver. He loved driving area children to school and they and their families appreciated him very much. Harley was a homebody and enjoyed word search books. He also loved woodworking. Together, Harley and Joyce hand built intricate doll houses that they gave as gifts to their nieces. Those doll houses are now family heirlooms being passed down through the family. Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family and are under the care of Gravenor Home For Funerals, Ephrata, PA.
