Harold E. Demming

Harold E. Demming, 82, passed away in his home on Sunday, February 18, 2024, in New Holland. Born and raised in Adamstown, Harold was the son of the late George Norman and Edith L. (Good) Demming. He was the loving husband to Marilyn J. (Shirey) Demming for 60 years.


Harold graduated from Wilson High School in 1960. He kickstarted his career as a toolmaker for Dana Incorporated of Reading while he continued his education. He was later promoted to Troubleshooter and Supervisor of Inspection and retired after working at the plant for over 35 years. Harold won several awards for drag racing at Maple Grove in his Pontiac 1960 Grand Prix. Harold was a member of the Mohns Hill E.C. Church. He collected many antiques and operated a stand at Pine Hills. Harold and Marilyn enjoyed traveling all over the world together, and when they were home, Harold spent time with his sweet puppy, Auggie. His love and adventurous spirit will be deeply missed.


In addition to his wife, Harold is survived by a daughter, Sonia L. Kehl of Wernersville; a sister, Margaret Harting.

Harold is predeceased by son-in-law, Al Kehl and sister, Esther Ziemer.


Services are private. Harold’s resting place is Cedar Grove Cemetery in Adamstown.
