Howard Hilbush

Howard E. Hilbush, age 90, of Mohnton, Brecknock Township, Berks County, PA., died Thursday, June 6, 2013, in Denver Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Stevens, Lancaster County, PA. Born in Uniontown, Dauphin County, a son of the late Robert W. and Anna M. (Witmer) Hilbush, his wife, Beatrice R. (Pordham) Hilbush, died September 28, 1992. He was a World War II Coast Guard veteran and belonged to Wyomissing United Church of Christ, Gouglersville, PA. He worked for Carpenter Technologies, Reading, for over 40 years, retiring as a foreman. Howard was a loving, supportive man, especially in his role as beloved uncle. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, golfing and playing cards. He was a lifetime member of Mohnton Fish & Game Association & Gouglersville Fire Company. Other memberships include Mohnton Fire Company, Mohnton VFW, 18th Ward Democratic Club, Treverton Rod & Gun Club and Manor Golf Course. Surviving are a sister, Anna M. Novik, Sodius Point, New York; brother, Joseph Hilbush, Madison, Michigan; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 11, at 10 AM from Good Funeral Home, Reamstown, with burial in Wyomissing Cemetery. Pastor Selina C. Hamilton will officiate. Viewings will be Monday from 6 to 8 pm and immediately prior to the service on Tuesday. Rather than flowers, contributions in Howard's memory may be made to PA Federation of Sportmen"s Clubs, 2426 North 2nd Street, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
