Remembering Howard ... Howard S. Sweigart, 83, of 105 Willow Street , Adamstown, Lancaster County , PA , died Friday morning at 2:04 AM in Ephrata Community Hospital where he was a patient one day. Born in Adamstown, he was a son of the late John and Carrie (Snyder) Sweigart. His wife, Elbina B. "Ellie" (Lorah) Sweigart, died July 16, 1980. He was employed as a baker for 30 years by Bordens, Inc., Mohnton, Berks County , retiring in 1985. Sweigart was an Army Sergeant during World War II and was a member of the Adamstown VFW. Howard had raised beagles for many years and was a life member of the Pocono Beagle Club. Surviving is a daughter, Barbara A. (Sweigart), married to George W. Haynes, Stevens, PA; 2 sons, Jay H. Sweigart, Shillington, PA; and Barry L., married to Cynthia (Levandowski) Sweigart, West Lawn, PA; 6 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Catherine (Sweigart) Kochel, Adamstown, PA. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Floyd and Earl Sweigart. Viewing Service A viewing will be held on Monday, June 21, 2004, from Noon to 1:00 PM from our parlors. The service celebrating Howard's life will begin at 1:00 PM with The Reverend William E. Hoch officiating. Interment will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Adamstown, Lancaster County, PA.
