Remembering James with love... James A. Schlegel, 56, of 115 Blainsport Road, Reinholds, Lancaster County, was found dead at his residence Tuesday morning of an apparent suicide. An autopsy was performed on Wednesday afternoon at Conestoga View, Lancaster. Born in West Reading, Berks County, he was a son of the late Floyd S. and Verna M. (Schweitzer) Schlegel. He was a 1965 graduate of Cocalico High School, Denver, and graduated from Albright College, Reading, in 1969. James had worked as a social worker with the Pennsylvania Department of Public Health Welfare. He was also employed over the years with Threshhold, Inc., Reading, Kinder Corp., Denver, and last with Viwinco, Inc., Morgantown. An avid baseball fan, especially the minor league teams, he was also a collector of baseball memorabilia. Surviving is a son, Thomas M. Schlegel, Stevens, PA; a brother, Terry L., married to Lana (Trostle) Schlegel, Reinholds, PA; and 2 sisters, Susan J., married to Brian P. Strouse, Reinholds, PA; and Sally A., married to Michael E. Tyeryar, Powhatan, Virginia. He was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Michael Schlegel. Viewing Services A viewing will be held on Friday evening, January 23, 2004, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM from our funeral home. The ceremony celebrating Jim's life will begin at 8:00 PM with The Reverend William E. Hoch and The Reverend Richard F. Christman II officiating. Graveside inurnment services will be held on Monday, January 26, 2004, at 10:00 AM from Cedar Grove Cemetery, Broad Street, Adamstown, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Contributions...
