James F. "Jim" Youndt

James F. 'Jim' Youndt, age 84, of Denver, Brecknock Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, died Friday, August 26, 2016, at 3:50 AM in Ephrata Community Hospital. Born in Fivepointville, the 11th child of Allen B. and Frances L. (Lorah) Youndt, Jim was the faithful husband of Barbara (Leid) Youndt for 65 years. An member of Muddy Creek Lutheran Church, , he served on council 21 years and was active in Sunday school and various committees. Beginning at age 14, Jim joined the family business, Youndt Bros. Home Dressed Meats, working for 58 years, becoming co-owner with his late brother, Robert, and continued by his sons. He was also a member of Ephrata Lodge #665 FAM. An avid hunter of both large small game, he also enjoyed golf. Blessed with their children, Rebecca (Randal) Houser, New Holland; Getha (Douglas) Loose, Ocala, FL; J. Lessley (Sandi Belchick) Youndt, Terre Hill; Allen (Carole Stahl) Youndt, Stevens; Andrew (Kim Hess) Youndt, Manheim; M. Phillip (Tina McCarty) Youndt, Ronks; and Scott (Jennifer Lesagonicz) Youndt, Denver; 16 loving grandchildren;17 great-grandchildren: sisters, Mae Henley, Edith Weinhold, Fern Oberholtzer Grace Hirneisen; and brother, Rev. Mark Youndt. Brothers, Luke, Robert, Lester, Roy, Clarence, Richard Bill predeceased him. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 1, 2016, PROMPTLY at 11 AM from Muddy Creek Lutheran Church, 11 S. Muddy Creek Rd., Denver, PA, 17517, with viewing from 9:30-11 AM.
