Jane E Harting

Jane E. Harting, age 62, of West Cocalico Township, Denver, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, died Wednesday, March 16, 2016, at 10:00 PM inMt. Joy Hospice Center following a courageous 3 month battle with cancer. Born in Ephrata, a daughter of the late Newton E. and Margaret F. (Reddig) Overholser, she was married to Gregory E. Harting for 34 years. A member of Salem Evangelical Reformed Church, Reamstown, she was church treasurer, former secretary, cradle roll supervisor, nursery Sunday school teacher and choir member. Jane was a 1971 Cocalico High School graduate; office supervisor with Elite Service, Inc., Denver, for 26 years, and worked earlier for Hess Foods. She played piano, knitted, crocheted and loved bird watching, especially blue birds hummingbirds. Also surviving is her daughter, Amy E. Harting, Philadelphia; her son, Matthew E., married to Amber L. Harting, Denver; grandson, Wyatt Harting; and brother, Frederick J., married to Edythe (Rudisill) Overholser, Ephrata. A granddaughter, Charlie Elizabeth Harting, predeceased her. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 22, at 10:00 AM from Good Funeral Home, Reamstown, with Rev. Joel B. Hertzog officiating. Burial will follow in Center Union Cemetery, East Earl, PA.The viewing will be on Monday from 6-8 PM.
