Janet May Sitts, a longtime resident of Ephrata, Pennsylvania, spent the last 5 years of her life residing at Ephrata Manor Care before passing away peacefully on Friday, September 27, 2024, at the age of 90.
Born on June 10, 1934 in Columbus, NY to Howard and Ruth Perrigo, Janet was the second of seven children.
Janet was predeceased by her husband, Jack Sitts, of 49 years, who passed in 2004, as well as her siblings, Robert Perrigo and Margaret (Perrigo) Foster, and her son-in-law, Michael Clouser. She is survived by her loving daughters, Deborah Ruth Jurasits (Jack), and Jacqueline Marie Clouser (Mike), along with four grandchildren: Kelley Clouser, Dana Miller (Adam), Cory Jurasits (Kate), and Christopher Clouser. Janet was also blessed with six great-grandchildren.
Janet enjoyed a fulfilling career working for 21 years at the National Wildlife Federation in Reston, Virginia. She was always known for her sweet tooth and could never be found without a treat close by.
Christmas held a special place in her heart, especially the cherished tradition of giving gifts during the 12 Days of Christmas.
In her free time, Janet was an avid crafter who found joy in sewing, crocheting, and cross-stitching. She will be remembered for her love of family, her kindness, and her creative talents. A private graveside service will be held at the Memory Gardens in Ephrata, PA, where she will be laid to rest beside her husband, Jack.
