Jennie Rutt

Jennie K. Rutt, age 98, formerly of Reamstown, Lancaster County, PA, died Wednesday, January 16, 2013, at 9:05 PM in Denver Health & Rehabilitation Center, Stevens. Born in East Cocalico Township, she was a daughter of the late Pierce F. and Agnes (Koch) Sweigart. Her husband, Lester S. Rutt, died October 16, 1984. Jennie was the salutatorian of her 1932 East Cocalico High School graduating class. She was a member of Faith United Evangelical Lutheran Church, Denver; had taught Sunday school and enjoyed knitting. Surviving is a daughter, Shirley, married to William C. Ludwig, Reamstown; a son, Nevin E., husband of the late Joyce M. (Beck) Rutt, Ephrata; 4 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Siblings, Anna Lorah, Mark, Harvey and Charles Sweigart predeceased her. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 21, 2013, at 10:00 AM from Good Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, Reamstown, with her pastor, The Rev. Joseph A. Veres, officiating. Burial will take place in Bergstrasse Cemetery, Ephrata. A viewing will be held Monday morning from 9-10 AM.
