Jerome M. Krim

May 4, 1925 — February 6, 2021

Jerome (Jerry) Krim, 95, of Ephrata passed away peacefully at his home in Keystone Villa on February 6, 2021. He was born in Hazelton, PA on May 4, 1925. Jerry was married to his loving wife Marilyn on October 23, 1955. Jerry was a proud WWII veteran. Although he had suffered from infantile paralysis (polio) as a young child, he felt it was his duty to serve his country. Despite his atrophied leg, he was able to “pass” his physical by stepping back a row to join the enlistees who had already been examined. Jerry served on the USS Belleau Wood light aircraft carrier in the pacific theater. He survived a deadly kamikaze attack on October, 30 1944 despite being thrown in to the ocean during the explosions. Many years later, Jerry became involved with the Belleau Wood reunions. He and Marilyn enjoyed attending the annual events which were held in a variety of locations throughout the country. While living in Kennett Square PA and subsequently Hockessin, DE, Jerry became involved with the Jewish War Veterans of the United States of America. He held several offices throughout the years. Jerry was a licensed amateur radio operator (HAM) for much of his adult life. Otherwise known as W3STA (sweet talking amateur), he enjoyed the social aspects of his hobby; however, he also volunteered his time with the Military Auxiliary Radio System (MARS). Jerry worked as a store manager for Robert Hall Clothes for many years before accepting a position as a sales manager with Cello Professional Cleaning Products where he would remain until his retirement in 1993. He greatly enjoyed the travel associated with his job. Upon retirement, Jerry and his wife became “snowbirds” enjoying the winter months in West Palm and Delray Beach Florida. They also enjoyed cruising to the Greek Isles and Panama, but their favorite cruise was a family trip to Alaska with their daughters and their families in celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary as well as Jerry’s 80th birthday. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents Louis and Fanny (Aronson) Krim, his brother Marvin Krim, his sister Pauline (Krim) Hirsh and his daughter Andrea (Krim) Keen. He is survived and will be greatly missed by his wife of 65 years Marilyn (Lenny) Krim, daughter Susan Fulmer (William) of Wernersville and four grandchildren Rachel Yurko, Molly Blake (Paul), Daniel Fulmer and Sebastian Fulmer. Jerome is also survived by several beloved nieces and nephews as well as many caring friends. Services will be private and scheduled at a future date. Interment will be at Haym Salomon Memorial Park, 200 Moores Rd, Malvern, PA 19355. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in his memory to the Jewish War Veterans of the United States of America foundation (www.jwv.org) or the Humane League of Lancaster County, (humanepa.org)
