John F. Jones

Remembering John with Love... John F. Jones, age 94, of Stevens, Lancaster County, PA, died November 4, 2011, in Ephrata Manor. Born in Philadelphia, PA, a son of the late Alfred K. and Eugenia (Beekler) Jones, his beloved wife of 51 years, Helen (Baron) Jones, died September 5, 2002. A 1934 Hammonton (New Jersey) High School graduate, he attended Temple and Penn State Universities. John played professional baseball with the St. Louis Cardinals farm system. He served with the Army in Panama from 1935-37; and was a WWII Navy veteran. Retiring in 1991 as manager with Kalas Manufacturing, Denver, PA, he also worked for Walker Brothers, Conshohocken. An avid golfer, he loved boating, and was a member of Norristown Lodge #190 Free and Accepted Masons; Cloister Post American Legion, Ephrata; Ephrata Amvets; and the Miser's Stock Club. Surviving is his cherished family: daughters, Deborah M, (Kenneth L.) Eshleman, Stevens; Cynthia J. ( Stanley R.) Staneski; Sandra H. (Tony C.) Leed; and Melissa A. Jones, all Denver ; son, Timothy F. Jones, Middletown, Delaware; 8 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and brother, Richard S. (Gail) Jones, Edgewater, FL. He was predeceased by siblings, Edna Grisso, Marion Rehmann, and William Jones. Service Information... Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 9, 2011, at 10 AM from Donecker Chapel of Ephrata Manor, 99 Bethany Road, Ephrata, PA 17522. Entombment with military honors will follow in Memory Gardens Mausoleum, Wabash Road, Ephrata, PA. Viewings will be Tuesday 6-8 pm from Good Funeral Home, Reamstown, and prior to the service at Ephrata Manor. Kindly omit flowers, contributions to Leukemia Lymphoma Society, 800 Corporate Center #100, Harrisburg, PA 17110-9346. The exceptional care provided by Ephrata Manor was greatly appreciated by John and his family.
