John Hilton

John F. Hilton, 68, formerly of Adamstown, passed away early Monday morning, October 8, 2018 at The Gardens of Stevens skilled nursing facility. Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Robert W. & S. Helen (Boldt) Hilton. John had worked in manufacturing at Dorma in Reamstown. For many years he served as Fire Police for the Stevens Fire Company and participated in all the fire company events. He was also a Lancaster Barnstormers fan and enjoyed going to baseball games. John is survived by two sons, Shawn Hilton of Denver and Shannon Hilton, husband of Angie, also of Denver; three grandchildren, and five siblings: Robert R. Hilton of Woodbridge VA; Joy C. Texter of Reading; his twin, Leonard E. Hilton, husband of Sharon, of Stevens; Susan J. Devert, wife of James, of Rexmont; and James D. Hilton of Exeter. He was predeceased by a brother-in-law, Harvey L. Texter. A viewing will be held Saturday, October 13th from 10 to 11 am and the funeral service will begin at 11am in Good Sipler Funeral & Cremation Centre, Inc., 34-38 N. Reamstown Rd., Reamstown, PA 17567. Revered C. Michael Roney will officiate. In lieu of flowers, contributions should be made to Stevens Fire Co., 91 Stevens Rd, Stevens, PA 17578.
