Remembering John... John Trego, Jr., 70, of 217 West Main Street, Leola, Lancaster County, died Wednesday morning at 7:05 AM in Hamilton Arms Nursing Home, Lancaster, where he resided for 2 weeks. His death followed a brief illness. Born in Hinkletown, Lancaster County, he was a son of the late John H. and Florence E. (Griffith) Trego. Retiring in 1996, he was employed for 41 years by Pennsylvania Scale Co., Leola. Since retirement he had worked part-time for Garden Spot Auto Auction, Ephrata; and for Car Quest, Leola. He was a member of Ephrata Lodge #1933 B.P.O.E. (Elks). A member of the United Racing Club, he was a mechanic assisting Kenny Brightbill with his modified stock car racing at the Reading Fairgrounds and also assisted in Sprint car racing with Billy Brian Jr. and Cliff Brian. Surviving is a daughter, Sandra L. (Trego) Johns, and a son, John A. Trego, both of Ephrata, PA; 3 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Hilda (Trego) Doll and a brother, Richard Trego. Viewing Service A viewing will be held on Monday, May 31, 2004, from 7:00 to 9:00 PM from our parlors. The funeral ceremony celebrating John's life will be held on Tuesday, June 1, 2004, at 10:00 AM with The Reverend Dennis E. Spangler officiating.
