Joseph P. Ross, 83, formerly of Stevens, passed away on Monday, February 24th, 2025, at Maple Farm Nursing Center in Akron. Born in Coaldale, Joseph was the son of the late Paul and Anna (Kopernik) Kwatkowski. Joseph was also the loving husband to Patricia Ann (Phillips) Ross for nearly 60 years.
Joseph was a 1966 graduate of the Electronic Computer Programing Institute in Philadelphia. He then worked in data communications for G.P.U. Services in Reading for 29 years until retiring in 1996. Joseph was a long-time member of Our Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. He was an amateur ham radio operator, known for his handle WK3Q. He operated his ham radios with his corvettes and boats. Joseph’s fun personality will be deeply missed.
Joseph is survived by his wife, Patricia A. Ross; brother-in-law, John (Lanee) Phillips; nieces, Susan Livesay, Julie Barnett & Lisa Galati; and nephews, Ted Livesay & Michael Phillips. Joseph is predeceased by sister, Helen A. Rettew of Wilmington.
A visitation will be held on Monday, March 3rd, at 10:00 a.m. with a funeral mass to start at 11:00 a.m. at Our Mother of Perpetual Health (OMPH) Catholic Church, 320 Church Ave, Ephrata, PA 17522. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, 60 Indiantown Gap Road, Annville, PA 17003.
