Kathryn Ann Mack, 73, of York Springs, formerly of Washington D.C., passed away Thursday, March 23, 2023, at her son's home in Stevens, where she was lovingly cared for by her family. Born in Washington D.C., Kathryn was a daughter of the late John Edward & Helen Irene (Sramcik) Henderson and the devoted wife of Kenneth S. Mack for 53 years. Kathryn grew up in the former Oxon Hill, MD area, now known as Fort Washington. She was a graduate of Crossland High School, class of 1968 and later attended Frostburg State College. She was a supportive and loyal military wife and mother, moving 22 times with Ken as he pursued his service career in the U.S. Army. Over the years, she enjoyed her employment positions in the various states they resided, with her true calling serving as the property manager of an assisted living community for the elderly in Simsbury, CT. In 2005, Ken and Kathryn moved to York Springs, PA where Kathryn retired and happily focused on her grandchildren. Kathryn, or Mae as she was lovingly known, loved being a grandmother and created special relationships with each of her grandkids, spoiling them in all ways possible. Holiday baking was a favorite, Kathryn's fudge topped the dessert list. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles, coloring, scrapbooking, and tinkering in the flowerbeds. She formerly taught CCD (Catechism) classes and was a former member of St John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Clinton, MD. Kathryn was outgoing and loved conversation, especially about her grandchildren. She was independent, held tight to her convictions, liked to laugh, and loved with her whole heart. In addition to her husband, Kathryn is survived by three children, Jennifer (Joe) Mack-Olesweski of Downingtown, John (Susan) Mack of Stevens, and Megan Mack of York Springs; four grandchildren, Connor Mack, Isabelle Mack, Molly Mack, Sebastian Gotreau; and seven siblings, Ellie (Jim) Arroyo, John (Susan) Henderson, Johanna Burhans, Faith (Tom) Wright, Martha (John) Henderson-Shipe, Michael (Christy) Henderson, and Peter (Judy) Henderson. Services are private. Kathryn's final resting place will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton, MD. Memorial Contributions are appreciated to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, www.stjude.org.
