Remembering Lawrence with Love... Lawrence William Texter, 89, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2010, surrounded by his loving family. Born at Mohn's Hill to Frank and Ella (Beavens) Texter, he was the seventh of nine children and grew up working on the family farm, where he developed his love for the outdoors. In 1949 he married Betty Jane Lesher. They raised their daughter Carol in the home he built in Adamstown. Betty died Nov. 29, 2002. Lawrence worked for Penn Dairies and proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was an active lifetime member of the Marine Corps League. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, clamming, gardening, wood carving, making dandelion wine and tinkering around his shop. Surviving: companion, Olga Kochel, Mohnton; loving daughter, Carol A. (Edward D.)Stoudt, Adamstown; grandchildren, Elizabeth Stoudt, Carey Stoudt (John) Matson, Eddie (Jodi) Stoudt, Laura Stoudt, and Gretel Stoudt; great-grandchildren, Liam, Nick, Henry, Ellie, Evelyn and Oliver; brother, Herbert Texter, Sinking Spring; sisters, Grace Endy, Wyomissing, and Evelyn Martzall, Denver. Viewing Funeral Service... A celebration of life will be held Friday May 28, at 2 PM from his daughter's home, 65 W. Main St. Adamstown , PA 19501 with viewing from 1-2 PM.
