Leon M. Gress

Leon M. Gress, age 88, of Stevens, East Cocalico Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, died peacefully in his home on Wednesday,July 27, 2016. Born in West Cocalico Township, he was a son of the late Harvey G. and Carrie (Moyer) Gress. His wife, Betty (Lorah) Gress, died October 24, 2010. A member of Swamp Christian Fellowship, Reinholds, he served on consistory and as elder. Leon was a Korean War army veteran and worked as a brick layer with several area builders, later on the road division of East Cocalico Township last for Good Funeral Home. He loved food dining out with friends, hunting, meeting new people, was a father figureand mentor to many and a true peacemaker. Surviving is his daughter, Lisa Y. Ochs, Reinholds. A daughter, Cynthia A. Gress-Smith, and brother, Lloyd Gress, also predeceased him. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 1, at 10 AM from Good Funeral Home, Reamstown, with Pastors Philip Groff and Bob Smallman officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery Annex, Denver.
