Leroy Witmer Jr. (August 23, 1935 - October 22,
2024) - has passed on to the great beyond, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, love, and impressive years of shenanigans.
He is survived by his wonderful wife, Betty.
Together, they raised a motley crew of five: Steve, Andy, Anne, Becky, and Michelle, along with 10
grandchildren and 14 great- grandchildren, all of whom have years of humorous stories to share.
Leroy was known for his wit and ability to prank just about anyone. His knack for humor and storytelling was a gift to all of us. Whether it was sitting around a campfire at the Woodchuck or hanging out on the beach at Cape May Point there was always laughs to be had.
He enjoyed golfing, hunting, traveling with his wife, family, and friends, which included trips to Europe, Costa Rica, Canada, and many visits to Florida and Montana. When not traveling, he enjoyed steaming clams, barbequing with family, and watching every sporting event his kids and grandkids ever participated in. He was a founding member of the Cocalico youth football program.
As a proud member of the East Cocalico Lions Club, Leroy not only served his community but also ensured meetings were never dull. He could often be found at the Ephrata fair serving up their famous french fries and fried oyster sandwiches. His quick wit and warm spirit will be missed.
Rest easy, Leroy. Your laughter will echo in our hearts forever.
