Linwood Schweitzer

Linwood D. Schweitzer, 80, of Sinking Spring, passed away Monday, June 20, 2022, at ProMedica of Sinking Spring. Born in West Reading, Linwood was a son of the late Freeland & Margaret (Borry) Schweitzer. Linwood was a graduate of Cocalico High School, class of 1959. He owned and operated his own excavating business, a trade handed down from his father, the former H.E. Hettinger Excavating. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. His fishing interests took him to outings in Canada. Linwood was a trusted caretaker at the Cedar Grove Cemetery in Adamstown. He was known to have an independent and private nature. Linwood is survived by his son, Eric L. (Susan) Schweitzer of Wernersville; two grandchildren, Erika (Adam) Bechdel and Kyle (Katie) Schweitzer; twin great granddaughters, Addison & Scarlett; and a brother, Jack Schweitzer. Linwood was predeceased by a daughter, Vicki Schweitzer. Services are private and Linwood's final resting place is in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Adamstown.
