Remembering Lloyd Tothero... Lloyd C. Tothero, 83, of 172 East Main Street, Adamstown, Lancaster County, died Thursday afternoon at 4:02 PM in the Reading Hospital Medical Center, West Reading, Berks County, where he was a patient since November 24th. Born in Beckersville, Berks County, he was a son of the late Charles and Katie (Messner) Tothero, and was the husband of Goldie M. (Demming) Tothero for 55 years on May 3rd. He was a member and former Councilman of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Adamstown. He was also very active in the direction of the former Luther League Youth Group of the church. Retiring in 1981, he was employed for 20 years by the Commonwealth's State Store System, last as manager of the former Adamstown location. Earlier he had worked for Bollman Hat Company, Adamstown. He had been a former assistant troop leader for Troup #61 Boy Scouts of America, had served on the local council, was a Weblos leader and member of the Order of the Arrow. An army veteran of World War II, he was a life member of the Adamstown VFW and was past commander of the Reinholds VFW. He also enjoyed golfing. Surviving in addition to his wife, are two sons, Barry L., married to Gail E. (Mohn) Tothero, Reamstown; and David A. Tothero, Philadelphia; 2 grandchildren and a great-granddaughter; also 2 brothers, Charles, married to Gloria Tothero, Wernersville, PA, and Earl, married to Hilda Tothero, Sinking Spring, PA. A brother, Ralph and infant twin sisters, preceded him in death. Viewing Funeral... Lloyd's viewing will be held on Tuesday, December 17, 2002, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM from our parlors. The service will begin at 11:00 AM with his pastor, The Reverend Sandra L. Gideon, officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Adamstown, Lancaster County, PA.
