Louise Gockley

Louise A. Gockley, 79, of Reinholds, passed away Sunday, July 10, 2022, at home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Fritztown, Louise was the daughter of the late Levi & Minnie Minerva (Spatz) Keffer and the loving wife of 62 years to Elmer H. Gockley. Louise was a long-time member of the Vinemont Community Lutheran Church, Reinholds, where she could be found volunteering for fundraisers, cooking for events, and pulling weeds around the church grounds. Caring for her family was most important to Louise; she raised seven children and had a special relationship with each of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved supporting and encouraging her family by attending every sports game, event, banquet, and tractor pull that she could; knowing she was in the stands made a difference. Louise was also the caregiver of many family members in their later years, another labor of love and devotion to her family. For many years, Louise worked at the Denver Elementary school as the cafeteria head cook. She enjoyed reading, caring for her flowerbeds, and spending time with Kitty. Louise was selfless and kindhearted; she loved the Lord and lived her faith. Her family will forever feel her quiet presence and influence. In addition to her husband, Louise is survived by seven children, Kathy A. Slavinski (Michael) of Bradford, Cindy Gockley Noe of Wyckoff, NJ, Timothy A. Gockley (Janet) of Newmanstown, Randy L. Gockley (Kim) of Denver, Rodney J. Gockley of Reinholds, Brian S. Gockley (Missy) of Reinholds, and Susan L. Sensenig (Andrew) of Ephrata; twelve grandchildren, ten great grandchildren; and a brother, Robert Keffer (Lydia) of Sinking Spring. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
