Luke W. Wise

Luke W. Wise, 88, of Ephrata, PA, passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at Ephrata Manor. He was the loving husband of Collette J. (Ruth) Wise and son of the late Frank A. and Bertha S. (Weinhold) Wise. Luke was born and raised in West Earl Township, Lancaster County, PA. He served in the United States Marine Corps and worked as a professional carpenter. Luke was a member of Bethany United Church of Christ in Ephrata, where he served as a church trustee. In addition to his wife, Collette, Luke is survived by two children: Kathy A. Alexander of Brownstown, PA and Tim Wise (Lori) of Stevens, PA; four grandchildren: Robin Alexander, Jordan Alexander (Julianne), Abigail Dixon (Jason), and Emily Wise; three sisters: Rose Peters (Carmen), Shirley Gehman (Sylvan), and Betty Martin (David); and one brother, Martin Wise (Judy). In addition to his parents, Luke was preceded in death by three sisters: Lavern Wise, Ruth Redcay, and June Reese Shrom; and four brothers: Vernon, Edwin, Paul, and Leroy Wise. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 25, 2019 at the Donecker Chapel at Ephrata Manor, 99 Bethany Rd., Ephrata, PA 17522 with the Rev. Robin Keating and Rev. Ed Dickel officiating. The family will receive friends before the service from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Interment will be held privately at Old Bethany Cemetery, Parkview Heights Rd., Ephrata, PA.
