Margaret Virginia (Rudy) Tobias, 93, passed away on Monday, February 5th, 2024, at the Ephrata Manor nursing facility. Born in Adamstown, Virginia was a daughter of the late Daniel and Maude (Behm) Rudy. She was the loving wife of Richard E. (Toby) Tobias for 61 years until his passing in 2017.
M. Virginia was a graduate of the formerly known Shillington High School, class of 1948. Virginia worked at the Adamstown Branch for Denver National Bank as the Assistant Vice President. At the age of 15, Virginia became deeply involved in the music department of church and spent 71 years as the organist and choir director at Peace UCC in Denver, and St. Paul's Lutheran and UCC Church in Adamstown. Virginia was a member of the Adamstown Women’s Club and served as a member of the Boro Council in Adamstown. Virginia also spent time doing volunteer work for Meals on Wheels. She was an avid Pittsburgh sports fanatic. She and Toby would attend a couple Pittsburgh Steelers games each year together. Virginia’s life was full of music and melody, and she will be deeply missed.
Virginia is survived by a son, Gregory E. Tobias (Diane) of Shillington; two grandchildren, Derek A. Tobias (Jessica) of Shillington, Jessica L. Schrufer (Derek) of Mohnton; five great-grandchildren, Ethan, Emma, Madison, Mia, and Lexi.
Services will be private. Virginia’s final resting place will be Cedar Grove Cemetery in Adamstown.
