Mae A. Bredbenner

February 21, 1924 — July 16, 2017

Mae Arline Bredbenner, age 93, formerly of East Cocalico Township, Denver, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 16, 2017, at 10:10 AM in Ephrata Manor, where she resided over two years. Born in West Reading, Berks County, she was a daughter of the late Floyd and Margaret (O'Neill) Adams. She was a 1942 Reading High School graduate and worked for Bell Telephone Company, Reading. She married Alyou O. Bredbenner October 17, 1948, and they lived and raised their children in Mohnton. Mae was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Mohnton, where she taught Sunday school. Her deep faith was a quality that aided her in coping with leukemia in her later years. A consummate homemaker, she was the stabilizing force of the family; preparing meals for her husband, children and grandchildren. Alyou diedJanuary 252003. Surviving are her children: Lois M., wife of John E. Haldeman, and Gary L. Bredbenner, of Denver, PA; grandsons: Dr. Michael E., husband of Jessica E. Haldeman, Charleston, SC; and Matthew A., husband of Elizabeth R. Haldeman, Collegeville, PA; and great-grandchildren: Alivia N. Haldeman, Collegeville, PA; and Ethan M. Haldeman, Charleston, SC. The memorial service will be held onFriday, July 21, at 10 AM from Good Funeral Home Cremation Centre, Reamstown, with The Reverend William E. Hoch officiating. Please meet at 11:30 AM in Good Shepherd Cemetery, 160 Tuckerton Rd., Reading, PA 19605, for the committal, as there will be NO procession.
