Margaret Jane (Trefethern) Martin, 93, of Ephrata, passed away Saturday, October 7, 2023, at United Zion Retirement Community in Lititz where she had resided for the past three years. Born in Hundred, WV, Jane was a daughter of the late Winthrop N. & Florence (Lemley) Trefethern and the loving wife of 69 years to Jay Wilmer Martin until his passing in April of 2022.
Jane was a graduate of Ephrata High School, class of 1948. She grew up in Brickerville on the Elizabeth Farms property which her father managed. She worked as a seamstress for Doneckers, the former upscale clothing boutique in Ephrata for many years, from which she retired. Jane was a long-time member of the Reformed Presbyterian Church in Ephrata. She enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, spending time with friends and family, collecting pottery and keeping a tidy home.
Jane is survived by her daughter, Patrice Martin of Ephrata; two grandsons, Jeremy Redcay (Chandra) of Bagor, and Janssen Redcay of Atlanta, GA; two great grandchildren, Jaiden and Thomas; and two step great grandchildren, Haylee and Anthony. She was predeceased by her siblings, George, Olive, Vincent, & Bill.
A Memorial Service will be held on Mon., Oct. 16th at 10 a.m. in the Reformed Presbyterian Church, 21 E Locust St, Ephrata, PA 17522. Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Ephrata.
