Marie B. "Mickey" Adams, 72 of Garden Spot Village, New Holland, passed away in the loving presence of her family early Monday morning, July 5, 2021. Born in Altoona, the oldest of six siblings, she was a daughter of Carmela (Ricapito) Bowman and the late William Redding Bowman and the devoted wife of 51 years to Robert S. Adams. Mickey was a lifelong dedicated teacher. She received her B.A. in American Studies (English emphasis) from the former Eastern Baptist College. She loved teaching Jr. High School students. She taught middle school students, 5th to 8th grade, in the Perkiomen Valley School District and music at Valley Forge Baptist Academy. Mickey was a talented music director and self-taught pianist. She served several years as the 220-voice Middle School choir director and directed the Garden Spot Village community chorus. To know Mickey was to love her; she adored and valued her many longtime friendships from stitch groups, stamp clubs, and community music events. She was creative, crafty, and generous. In addition to her husband and mother, Mickey is survived by a daughter, Julie A. Rosen, wife of Michael of Baltimore, MD; a son, Jonathan R. Adams of Willow Grove, PA; two grandchildren, Marcus R.R. Rosen and Aidan W.F. Rosen; and five siblings, Martha B. Murray of Limerick, William R. Bowman of Twin Falls, ID, Thomas A. Bowman, husband of Lori, of Caldwell, ID, Paul S. Bowman, husband of Nancy, of Twin Falls ID, and Mark A. Bowman, husband of Sue, of San Jose, CA. In memory of Mickey, contributions are welcome to the Garden Spot Village Benevolent Fund, 433 S. Kinzer Ave., New Holland, PA 17557. In celebration of Mickey's past and future life, a Going Home Celebration will be held on Sunday, September 5, 2021, from 1-4pm at Garden Spot Village.
