Marilou Peters

Marilou Peters, 68, of Ephrata, PA passed into the presence of the Lord on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at Lancaster Nursing & Rehab. Born in Niagara Falls, N.Y., she was the daughter of Walter & Phyllis Helsel. Marilou is preceded in death by her sister Diana Lundy and brother Raymond Helsel.

Marilou served in the U.S. Army Reserve then joined the U.S. Navy active duty and served as a Hospital Corps Wave.

Marilou married John Peters and together they had two wonderful children, Deborah Mary Krantz and Timothy John Peters. Marilou served along with her husband as missionaries in the United States in Santa Ana, California and Des Moines, Iowa. She also attended Bible School for two years.

Marilou worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse in multiple states in the U.S. She served as a pastor’s wife to her husband John as they ministered together at Refreshing River of God Church in Stevens, PA.

Marilou’s hobbies were doing crossword puzzles, painting, scrabble and tolerating her husband’s annoying jokes.

Marilou will always be remembered for her quick wit and honest answers.

Her final resting place is in Indiantown Gap, Annville, Pa.
