Marilyn Krim, 91, of Ephrata, PA passed away peacefully at her home in Keystone Villa on September 20, 2022. She was born in Chester, PA on January 17, 1931. Marilyn was married to her loving husband Jerry on October 23, 1955.
Marilyn attended Philadelphia School of Office Training in preparation for an occupation as a secretary. She enjoyed a long career at Genuardi’s Family Markets. After initially starting in the advertising department, Marilyn spent the majority of her career with Genuardi’s serving as the executive secretary to the Genuardi brothers. She adored her position there; however, she made the difficult decision to join her husband as he entered into retirement in 1993.
Upon retirement, Marilyn and her husband, Jerry became “snowbirds” enjoying the winter months in West Palm and Delray Beach, Florida. They also enjoyed cruising to the Greek Isles and Panama, but their favorite cruise was a family trip to Alaska with their daughters and their families in celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary as well as Jerry’s 80th birthday.
During her retirement years, Marilyn pursued several volunteer activities. For over 25 years, she volunteered within the child life department at Nemours/A.I. duPont Hospital for Children. Additionally, Marilyn and her husband became involved with the Jewish War Veterans of the United States of America. They visited the local veteran’s hospital to participate in recreational activities with the patients. In her free time, Marilyn enjoyed knitting caps and scarfs for donation to others.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents Lewis and Sarah Lenny, her sister Patricia Hopman and her daughter Andrea (Krim) Keen.
Marilyn is survived and will be greatly missed by her daughter Susan Fulmer (William) of Wernersville and four grandchildren Rachel Yurko, Molly Blake (Paul), Daniel Fulmer (Ashley) and Sebastian Fulmer. Marilyn is also survived by her loving brothers Edward Lenny (Isabel) and Albert Lenny (Naomi), sister-in-law Ethel Krim, several beloved nieces and nephews as well as many caring friends.
Services will be private and scheduled at a future date. Interment will be at Haym Salomon Memorial Park, 200 Moores Rd, Malvern, PA 19355.
