Mary Ann Givler

Mary Ann Givler, 76, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, January 11, 2024 in the WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital. Born and raised in Penryn, she was a daughter of the late James and Helen (Demmy) Gibble.


Mary was a graduate of Manheim Central High School, class of 1965. Moving often to accommodate the assignments of a military family, Mary lived in many places including Florida, Charleston SC, and Maine. In her younger years, Mary worked alongside her mother in Brownstown as a seamstress. For many years, Mary worked in pharmaceuticals for Warner Lambert in Lititz, retiring in 2006. Mary Ann was known for her sweet and selfless nature. She always put others before herself and tirelessly sought solutions to everyone else's problems. Mary had a quiet presence and was always there for her loved ones, offering unwavering support and assistance. She adored her grandchildren and cherished the role of "Grandma." Mary enjoyed playing bingo and loved spending time at the beaches of Maryland and Delaware. She had a deep appreciation for the Make-a-Wish foundation and made it a point to watch the annual convoy. Mary also enjoyed bowling, reading, and dancing during her younger years. She had a zest for life and embraced every opportunity to have fun and create lasting memories. She believed in giving back and making a difference. Mary Ann leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and generosity. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.


Mary is survived by daughter, Raquel Kirkham (Kendall); and son, Ashton R. Shull (Jade Hubley-Shull) of Lititz; stepdaughter, Cheryl Taylor of Colton, California; two grandchildren, Jackson & Crosby Shull; sister, Connie G. Martin (Richard E.) of Pleasant View; and husband, Glen R. Givler.

Services for Mary are private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are appreciated to Make a Wish, www.wish.org.
