Mary Prudence (Prudy) Hanson, 89, of Denver, formerly of Marion, Kansas, went Home to Jesus on Sunday, February 10, 2019. She was daughter of the late Orvile Movita & Mary Marguerite (Prall) Baker. Prudy was the widow of Robert Lee Hanson, married for 51 years prior to his passing. Prudy was a loving, spirit-filled woman whose devotion to family and friends was exceeded only by her devotion to spreading the good news of her Lord and Savior. Until throat surgery in 2012 compromised her voice, singing was her joy. She was also a skilled percussionist and seamstress. As a child and teen, she studied ballet and piano; and throughout her life her sense of humor, talent and energy enlivened many a PTA show, community, and church performance. Prudy saw every task, however small, as an act of praise and endeavored always to be of service. She supported multiple ministries and charities to the extent of her resources and gave tirelessly of her time and talent. She will be deeply and dearly missed by all whose lives she touched. Mary is survived by a daughter, Janet G. Wood (Tom Vecchiolli) of Denver, PA; two sons, Dale Wood (Patty) of Conroe, TX and Robert David Hanson (Michelle) of Tulsa, OK; five grandchildren & four great grandchildren. She was predeceased by two brothers, Eugene & Robert Baker, and twin daughters Robin and Diane Hanson. A committal service will be held Tuesday, February 19 at 11am, at Mount Bethel Cemetery, Columbia, PA. Arrangements by Good Sipler Funeral & Cremation Centre, Inc. of Reamstown, Pa. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Good News Fellowship Church, 310 S Coble St, Marion, KS 66861; the Alzheimer's Association; or Hospice of Lancaster County
