Michael G. Madara, 57, of Reinholds, passed away Friday, September 29, 2023. Born in West Reading, Mike was a son to Jean E. (Esterly) Madara and the late Ronald R. Madara. He was the devoted husband of 29 years to Beverly L. (Lesher) Madara. Mike grew up in Laureldale and was a graduate of Governor Mifflin High School, class of 1984. He studied chemical engineering and received his bachelor's degree in 1989 from the Worcester Polytechnic Institute where he was a member of the Zeta Psi fraternity in Worcester, MA. Mike held various engineering roles throughout his career and most recently worked as a Senior Process Quality Engineer for Brentwood Industries in Reading. Mike enjoyed strategy and fantasy games such as Dungeons and Dragons, PokemonGo and Chess. He enjoyed a challenge, loved to win, and only recently was he beaten by his godson in a game of chess. Mike and Bev spent time together at Cape Henlopen in Delaware where Mike enjoyed Grotto's pizza far more than the beach. Mike liked watching sports, he was a Flyers fan who married a Penguins fan, and he enjoyed the fun rivalry. Mike was a deacon and long-time treasurer at Peace UCC Church and former treasurer for the Mohnton Fire Co. Social Quarters. He had various tastes in music and fashion - he was a Grateful Dead fan and looked great in his tie-dye tees. He loved practical jokes, had a great sense of humor, and made people laugh. In addition to his wife and mother, Mike is survived by brother, Mark A. Madara (Dawn), of Temple; nieces & nephews, Kristin Bruni (Mike), Jennifer Workman (Ivan), Matthew Madara, Milla Madara, Sully Madara, Nolzia Madara, James M. Anthony, Mark A. Anthony (Christina); and 2 great nephews, a great niece, and one on the way. Mike was predeceased by a brother Joseph M. Madara (Carolyn Martin), father, Ronald Madara. Visitation will be held on Sun., Oct. 15th from 2 to 3 p.m. Please wear your favorite tie-dyed t-shirts! And a Celebration of Life Service will begin at 3 p.m. in the Peace UCC church, 37 E Swartzville Rd, Denver, PA 17517.
