Michael W. Smith

Michael W. Smith, age 60, of East Cocalico Township, Denver, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, passed away Sunday, April 17, 2016, in Ephrata Community Hospital. Born in Norfolk, Virginia, September 12, 1955, to the late Joseph M. and Carol Ann (Hoover) Smith, Mike was married 40 years to Glenda K. (Locke) Smith. He was employed as a manager at the Exeter branch of Home Depot, where he loved his job and had great admiration for the company and all of the employees. A man of few words, his love was spoken through actions and devotion; which always meant more to his family and friends than any words could ever possibly articulate. He spent his entire sixty years of life playing hard, working harder, and loving deeply. Now is his time to rest. While his life was taken too soon, his imprint on those who knew and loved him will carry on indefinitely. His legacy will persevere through his daughters: Tricia Smith, Erica Smith, and Alexia Davis; brothers: Joe Jr., Doug, Dan, and Don; sisters: Karin, Debbie, and Pam, and 8 beautiful grandchildren; with the sunshine always on their shoulders. A celebration of Mike's life will be held on Sunday, June 12, Noon to 3 PM at the Downingtown Country Club, 85 Country Club Dr., Downingtown, PA 19335.
