Remembering Mildred with love... Mildred A. Eckenroth, 76, of 16 Locust Bend Road, Ephrata, Lancaster County, died Monday afternoon at 4:31 PM in Maple Farms Nursing Center, Akron, Lancaster County, where she was a resident since May 25. Born in Brecknock Township, Lancaster County, she was a daughter of the late Isaac P. and Elsie K. (Messner) Swartz. Her husband, Richard T. Eckenroth, died May 12, 1995. Retiring May 9, 1995, she was employed for 30 years by the former Hess Foods, Inc., Ephrata. She was a 1945 graduate of East Cocalico High School, and had been an organist and pianist at the former Muddy Creek Reformed Church and the Union Sunday School, Swartzville. She was a member of the Adamstown VFW Ladies Auxiliary, enjoyed crocheting and trips to Potter County. Surviving are 3 daughters, Betty, married to Herman Eberly, Denver, PA; Donna Eckenroth, Ephrata, PA; and Kathy, married to David Eager, Denver, PA; 2 sons, Kenneth E., married to Arlene (Leed) Eckenroth, Mohnton, PA; and Richard C. Eckenroth, Denver, PA; 5 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Viewing Service A viewing will be held on Thursday evening, June 10, 2004, from 7:00 to 9:00 pm from our parlors. The service celebrating Mildred's life will be held at our funeral home on Friday morning, June 11, 2004, at 10:00 AM with Pastor Randy Ott and Pastor Bill Sloat officiating. Interment will follow in Muddy Creek Cemetery, Swartzville, Lancaster County, PA.The family has requested that rather than flowers, please remember Mildred with contributions to Hospice of Lancaster County, Post Office Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125
