Mildred M. Grimley

Remembering Mildred with Love... Mildred M. Grimley, 90, of Ephrata Manor, died Sunday, March 21, 2010, at 4:25 PM in Ephrata Community Hospital . She became ill at church after finishing her Sunday school lesson on Ruth. Born in Westmont , NJ , a daughter of the late George W. and Mildred M. ( Griffith ) Hess, her husband, Rev. John B. Grimley, died September 18, 1997. A member and Sunday school teacher at Akron Church of the Brethren, she was a teacher of English and The Bible, and served with her husband for 21 years as a Church of the Brethren missionary in Nigeria , Africa . Mildred enjoyed quilting, needlepoint and writing, especially biographical stories. Surviving are daughters, Milly M. (Phil) Kruper, Phoenixville , PA ; Joane F. (Ron) Eby, Ephrata , PA ; and Peg J. Grimley, Mill Valley, CA; a son, John O. (Iris Brower) Grimley, Dayton, OH; 6 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and a brother, George Hess, Beaver Creek, OH. Viewings Funeral Service... Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 27, 2010, at 10:00 AM from Akron Church of the Brethren, 613 Main Street , Akron , PA 17501 , with Pastor Tom Weber officiating. A viewing will be held Friday, March 26, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM from Good Funeral Home Cremation Centre, Reamstown. The casket will also be open prior to the service on Saturday.
