Miriam Wise

Remembering Miriam with Love... Miriam Wise, age 87, formerly of Bowmansville, Lancaster County , died Tuesday, August 24, 2005, at Masonic Village , Elizabethtown , Lancaster County , where she resided since 1999. Born May 16, 1918, in Shillington, Berks County , she was a daughter of the late John A. and Erma (Hoffert) Lyons, and was the widow of Paul S. Wise, who died December 23, 1998. She was a member of St. Paul 's United Church of Christ, Bowmansville, and enjoyed sewing, knitting and bowling. Miriam was a former Girl Scout Leader in Bowmansville and volunteered for 15 years at the Thrift Shop of Reading Hospital Medical Center, West Reading, Berks County . Mrs. Wise was bookkeeper and secretary with her husband's firm, Paul S. Wise Contractor, Bowmansville. She was also a member of John Hepler Chapter #521 Order of Eastern Star, West Reading . Surviving is a son, Leonard H., husband of Brenda (Kilhefner) Wise, Bowmansville , PA ; a daughter, Nancy E., wife of Bruce G. Werner, Carlisle, PA; a granddaughter and a great-grandson. A brother, Paul Lyons, preceded her in death. Visitation Funeral Service... There will be no public viewing. Private services will be held from Good Funeral Home Cremation Centre, Inc. of Reamstown with her pastor, The Reverend Robert A. Witmyer, officating. Private inurnment in Bowmansville Union Cemetery , Brecknock Township , Lancaster County, PA.
