Nancy L. (Weik) Bealer, 81, a resident at The Heritage of Green Hills and formerly of Sinking Spring, passed away Saturday, November 25, 2023. Born in Ephrata, Nancy was the daughter of the late Clarence M. and Ellen (Hoffman) Weik and married to her loving husband, Charles W. Bealer, for nearly 59 years until his passing in 2022.
Nancy was a graduate of Ephrata High School, class of 1960. For several years, Nancy worked in food service at the Reading Hospital. Throughout her life, Nancy had a vibrant and adventurous spirit. She had a passion for dancing, particularly jitterbug, and enjoyed going out with their many friends. One of her unique hobbies was collecting sheep treasures and keepsakes, which reflected her and Charlie’s former ownership of a small herd of pet sheep. Nancy loved the beach and traveling. Her favorite destinations included Ocean City, MD, where she and Charlie had their own place, as well as Marco Island, FL, and the Outer Banks. Family was of utmost importance to Nancy, and she took great pride in her three grandchildren. She cherished the joy of spontaneity and with Charlie, they embraced life to its fullest. She was a member of the Wyomissing United Church of Christ in Gouglersville and held memberships with the Reading Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 251, Gouglersville Fire Co., and was an honorary member of the Ocean City Fraternal Order of the Elks 2645. Nancy will be remembered for her warm and fun-loving personality, and her unwavering love for her family and friends.
Nancy is survived by two children, Sherrie R., wife of Kevin M. Taylor of Brecknock Twp. and Michael S. Bealer of Wilmington, NC; three grandsons, Dalton Bealer, Brandon Taylor, and Dillon Taylor, and a brother, James L., husband of Adora Weik of Lancaster. In addition to her husband and parents, Nancy was predeceased by daughter in law, Rosalia Bealer.
A viewing will be held on Wed., Nov. 29th from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Wyomissing UCC Church, 2 Vermont Rd., Sinking Spring, Pa 19608, and the funeral will begin at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Mellinger's Cemetery in Schoeneck.
