Nevin E. Kieffer

Remembering Nevin with Love... Nevin E. Kieffer, age 83, of Denver , Lancaster County, PA, died peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, February 21, 2012. Born in Pine Hill, Lancaster County , a son of the late Charles M. and Stella B. (Buchter) Kieffer, he was the husband of Verna I. (Yost) Kieffer for 48 years. A member of Mellinger's Lutheran Church , Schoeneck, he operated Nevin Kieffer Home Improvements and retired from Kalas Manufacturing, Denver . Following retirement he and his wife managed a guest house in Rehoboth Beach , DE , where he also worked at a bike shop. A drummer with various local dance bands, he was a music lover and enjoyed woodworking. Also surviving: daughters, Stella I. Leonti, Reading; Karen D. Lausch, Ephrata; Kim D. Kieffer, partnered with Robert Brubaker, Lititz; sons, Alan L. (Nelli) Kieffer, Clearwater, FL; and Kevin D. (Maria) Kieffer, Denver; grandchildren, Jaime (Anna) Leonti, NY, NY; Jennifer (John) Bailey, TegaCay, SC; and Scott Simmons, Elizabethtown; great-grandson, Austin Simmons; and a brother, Jay (Shirley) Kieffer, Akron. He was predeceased by a daughter, Kelly D. Burkett and brothers, Bart, Paul and Charles Jr. Service Information... Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2012, at 12 Noon from Mellinger's Lutheran Church, 80 Gockley Road, Stevens, PA 17578, with his pastor, The Reverend Timothy L. Craven, officiating. Burial will follow in Mellinger's Cemetery, Schoeneck. A viewing will be held at the church from 10 AM to 12 Noon.
