Nickele Potteiger

January 12, 1969 — April 20, 2022

Words can't describe how we all feel right now. We have lost an important piece, feeling, and person in our lives. To anyone who might of know our mom, she was a very loving, caring, and just genuinely amazing person. She has been struggling for most of her life, fighting the demons of alcoholism. Me, my siblings, family members, and some of you were here to witness it. It may not have seemed like it but she was fighting hard, harder than anyone I know. She won for years, and the alcohol stayed away. She is my hero for fighting back and doing what she could. Some might say she lost the battle but, in my eyes, I believe she won. She raised 4 great children while battling at some points of her life and she helped shape an amazing husband and dad. I look back at all the good and bad times and realize they were all good. Because behind every bad time there was a lesson. A lesson to help better us all and herself. We just want to say thank you. Thank you for being our mom. Thank you for always being there for us in thick and thin. Thank you for doing everything you could to make sure we would get to ride. And thank you for all the movie nights with the girls. Thank you for all the drives, lunches, haircuts, and laughs. It's the little things that mean the most. And most importantly thank you for being our mom, you will and always will be. You are in a better place now and the demons are gone. But don't think we are. We will always be talking to you and looking up to make sure you're watching. We love you mom may you Rest In Peace and be happy in heaven. ~Zach ~~~ Nickele Dee Potteiger, 53, of Mohnton, passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2022. Born in Lawton, OK, she was a daughter of Jesse D. & Jill Maxwell and the late Kay Ann (Wise) Maxwell. Married 25 years this summer, she was the loving wife to Darrick T. Potteiger. Nickele grew up where rodeos and riding horses were regular adventures. She moved to Pennsylvania in 1994. She worked as an optical technician at Lens Crafter and Adamstown Eye Care until happily trading her career for the arrival of triplets in 2006. She loved family adventures with the kids; Hershey Park passes were a must every year. For the past several years she has been cheering on her family Motocross team at the track and capturing the kids and family friends in hundreds of racing photos. Her family and race family was always important to her. In addition to her husband, Nickele is survived by four children, Zachary, Maya, Gavin, & Ireland; a sister Shelly Gregory (Mark) of OK, and her Aunt Shirley Duffy (Fred).
