Norman J. Shank Jr., 82, of Ephrata, passed away on Saturday, March 15th, 2025, at the WellSpan Community Hospital of Ephrata. Born in Havre de Grace, Maryland, Norman was the son of the late Norman & Helen (Mitchell) Shank, and the loving husband to Joy L. (Harding) Shank for 61 years until her passing in 2021.
Norman grew up in Akron with his family, later moving to Ephrata. In his younger years, Norman was a member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. Norman worked for many years as a welding supervisor for the formerly known Sperry New Holland, later retiring in 2007 as a project manager from Ray Tech Manufacturing. His line of work helped Norman expand his favorite hobbies into his work life as he loved art and creativity in his free time and did drafting and designing at work. Norman was a former member of a bowling league with Dutch Lanes and loved to relax with a good game of golf. Along with his love of drawing and art, Norman also loved cars, woodworking, and a competitive family game of scrabble. His loving, supportive, and artistic personality will be deeply missed by all of his family and friends.
Norman is survived by three children, Ivette (Jay) Moyer, Lisa (the late Tim) Kashner, & Ty (Xiaoling) Shank; six grandchildren, Bob, Jacquelyn, Derek, Jared, Sonja, & Brianna; six great-grandchildren; and sister, Yvonne Sensenig.
