Paul Marshall Hunter, 91, of Ephrata, passed away on Thursday, May 9th, 2024, at the Keystone Villa of Ephrata. Born in Altoona, Paul was a son to the late George and Ida (Arthur) Hunter, and the loving husband of Barbara J. Hunter, until her passing in 1991. He later remarried Frances Grace (Hatten) Hunter until her passing in 2023.
Paul graduated from Moshannon Valley High School in Clearfield County. He was later inducted into the US Army in 1953. Paul worked as a diesel mechanic and was the supervisor for Rapid Ways Trucking Company. He was a member of Grampian Church of God and Oakridge Church. Paul enjoyed camping, hunting, and salmon fishing in Michigan. Paul was an avid family man and loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was a beloved father-like figure to many nurses at Keystone Villa, and his kindness will be missed by all the lives he influenced.
Paul is survived by two daughter, Valerie (Chad) Cartwright, Vanessa (Steve) Hunter Austin; two step-daughters, Cindy (Kevin) Michael and Sharon (Gene) Wenner; eight grandchildren, Brian Lindgren, Kaitln Finder, Britny Kreiter, Tyler Michael, Meghan Michael, Hannah Hoover, Paul Cartwright, Stephanie Wenner; six great-grandchildren, Cayden & Cole Lindgren, Evelyn & Malcolm Finder, and Cassidy & Dax Kreiter and one on the way; niece, Kathy (Lanny) Schaffer; and nephew, Kit Johnston. Along with his first and second wives, Paul is predeceased by sister, Velma Johnston; two brothers, John Harris and Tom Bailey; and step- daughter, Darla Hoover.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, May 16th, at 10:00 a.m. at the Keystone Villa of Ephrata chapel, 100 N State St, Ephrata, PA 17522.
