Peggy Ellen (Helmick) Dick, 86, of Ephrata, passed away on Wednesday, 21st, 2024, at Keystone Villa of Ephrata. Born in Eglon, West Viriginia, Peggy was a daughter of the late Elwood & Kathlea (Rembold) Helmick. She was also the loving wife of Galen Roger Dick for 59 years until his passing in 2018.
Peggy received her bachelor’s degree in education from IUP and taught math at schools throughout Blair County. She also earned her LPN for nursing to assist at nursing homes and personal care. She retired in 1995. Peggy and Roger were long time members of the Ephrata Berean Bible Church. They enjoyed trips together to Shenandoah, West Virginia and walking at Middle Creek. Peggy was an avid quilter and very talented at the craft. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother with a steadfast faith. Her loyal heart will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Peggy is survived by three children, Elizabeth Beecher, Catherine Wilusz (David), and Julie Kubitsky (David); grandchildren: Matthew Hunter (Libby) and Sarah Kubitsky; three great-grandchildren, Harriet “Hattie”, John, & Albert; and sister, Jacqueline Shoemaker. Peggy is predeceased by her brother, John Helmick.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, August 26th at 11:30 a.m. at Greenlawn Cemetery, 327-399 Barley Street, Roaring Spring, PA 16673.
