Phyllis A. Johns

Phyllis A. Johns, 88, of Stevens, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on Friday, November 22nd, 2024. Born in Reinholds, Phyllis was a daughter of the late Howard L. & Mary (Artz) Zerbe. She was the loving wife of Mr. Mervin H. Johns for 45 years until his passing in 2003.

Phyllis was a graduate of Wilson High School, class of 1954. After graduation, she worked as a teller for the former People’s Trust in Wyomissing. After taking time to start her family, Phyllis worked as an insurance agent for the Frankford Insurance Agency. Phyllis began taking Vo-Tech classes to become a nurse’s aide at Manor Care in Sinking Spring. Phyllis loved to play cards, especially Pinochle and Hausey. She also enjoyed bowling with her friends, crocheting and reading books. Phyllis loved her family and will be deeply missed.

Phyllis is survived by two children, Dennis L. (Theresa M.) Johns of Bowmansville and Denise L. Logan of Stevens; five grandchildren, Tiffany Johns (Larry Trego), Melissa Dries (Harold), Tracy Snader (Glenn), Amy Conway (Harry), and Kelly Perkins (Christopher); five great grandchildren, Nicole Conner, Hunter Conway, Ryan Conway, Dominic Perkins, and Matthew Dries; two great great grandchildren, Jaxon Blessing, and Wyatt Truitt. She is predeceased by two siblings, Betty Hornberger, Marlin Zerbe; son-in-law, John E. Logan; and great grandson, Michael Wildoner.

A memorial service will be held Mon. Dec. 2nd at 10:00 a.m at St Paul's Lutheran Church, 80 E Main St, Adamstown, PA 19501. Phyllis’ final resting place is at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Adamstown.
