Remembering ...Ray C. Firestone Ray C. Firestone, 70, of 455 Lauschtown Road, Denver, Lancaster County, died Sunday morning in Hershey Medical Center, Dauphin County, where he was a patient for the past week. His death followed an illness of one year. Born in Denver, Lancaster County, he was a son of the late Elwood, Sr., and Lucy (Messner) Firestone, and was the husband of Pauline J. (Weidner) Firestone for 46 years on June 18th. He was a member of St. John's Center United Church of Christ, East Earl, PA, and was a former member and councilman of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Bowmansville. Retiring in 1994, he was a stone mason with Eshbach Brothers, Reading, for many years and was a member of the Bricklayers Union Local #5. Ray was a staff sergeant in the army during the Korean War. He was a member of the Adamstown VFW, the R Field Stream Sportsman Club, Lebanon, PA, and enjoyed gardening. Ray and his wife are also know for their annual Christmas light and scene displays at their home near Bowmansville. Surviving in addition to his wife is a son, Randy R. Firestone, Lebanon, PA; a grandson, Michael R. Firestone, Cornwall, and 2 great-grandsons. Also surviving are 3 sisters, Geneva Firestone, Barbara Firestone, and Floy, married to Clyde Goshert, all of Denver, PA; and 3 brothers, Elwood Firestone, Jr., Reading, PA; Jay, married to Elva Firestone, Lititz, PA; and Kay, married to Marian (Youndt) Firestone, Adamstown. Viewing Services... Ray's viewing will be held on Wednesday, November 6, 2001, from 7:00 to 9:00 PM from our funeral home with his services beginning at 9:00 PM with The Reverend Robert A. Witmyer officiating.
