Richard Lamar Horning, 57, of 50 Gross Street, Ephrata, Lancaster County, died Friday afternoon, May 7, 2004, at 3:05 PM in Spruce Manor Nursing Rehabilitation Center, West Reading, where he was a guest for 1 day. His death follow a one year illness. Born in Denver, Lancaster County, he was a son of the late Joseph B. and Anna (Ziemer) Horning. He had been employed by Whitaker Motors, Adamstown, as an auto repairman and painter. Horning was an avid hunter fisherman, a member of Cushion Peak Rod Gun Club, Reinholds, and a NASCAR fan. He is survived by his former wife, Mary Ann (Wanner) Horning, Adamstown; a son, Richard Lee Horning, Adamstown; and a daughter, Renae L. (Horning), married to Luis Delgado, West Reading; a grandson; 3 sisters, Grace (Horning) Zimmerman, Reinholds, PA; Susie (Horning), married to Clarence Weaver, Mohnton, PA; and Mary Jane (Horning), married to Roy Haller, Ephrata, PA; and a brother, Herbert, married to Mildred (Weber) Horning, Reinholds, PA. Visitation Service The family will receive friends at the Bowmansville Mennonite Church, 129 Pleasant Valley Road, East Earl, PA 17519, on Tuesday morning from 9:00 to 11:00 AM. The ceremony celebrating Richard's life will begin at 11:00 AM with Pastor Chet Yoder officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery.
