Rita Steger

Rita H. Steger, 67, of Reinholds, passed away Friday, August 25, 2023, at home in the loving presence of her family. Born in Meadville, Pa, she was a daughter of the late Robert E. and Marie E. (Stillman) Hale and the loving wife of 32 years to Keith T. Steger. Rita was a graduate of Meadville High School, class of 1973. She met Keith in 1986 and together they moved to Denver, Pa. Rita loved Keith's sons, Ryan and Adam, as her own. She created special memories like blueberry pancake breakfasts, baked their favorites desserts, and she was always there for them. Rita worked for Zoetis as a customer service rep. for animal health pharmaceuticals, an industry she had worked in for over 30 years. She was passionate about her work, loved animals, and eagerly passed along her pet health knowledge to others. In 2009 Rita and Keith built their home in Reinholds. Rita loved the satisfaction of placing the final pieces of a challenging jigsaw puzzle, shopping for something special, and baking family favorites. She was the party-planner for any occasion or holiday, always thinking about how to make someone feel special. Creating a custom Halloween costume every year was one of her favorite things, often winning the premier costume prize at work. Time with family was precious to Rita including trips to Brigantine Beach and the New York property by the lake. She treasured the time, conversation, and relationships of her family and friends. Her great nephew, Lincoln, held a special place in her heart and she cherished their little adventures. Rita will forever be remembered for her deep generosity and endless thoughtfulness. In addition to her husband, Rita is survived by her sons, Ryan Steger (Amy) of Nashville, TN and Adam Steger of Stevens; three grandchildren; a sister, Allyson DiFeo (Daniel) of King of Prussia; a niece Jenna Harrison (Nicholas) of King of Prussia; and many cousins and great nephews. In addition to her parents, Rita is predeceased by sister, Lynn Williams. Services are private and in lieu of flowers, contributions are appreciated to Rita's preferred charity, the Susan G.
