Robert 'Bob' E. Bullock

Robert (Bob) Eugene Bullock, 70, of Mechanicsburg, passed away peacefully with family at his side, Friday, May 3, 2024, at Keystone Villa in Ephrata, Pa. Bob was born on December 27, 1953, in Bethesda, MD. He was the son of the late Robert Moore Bullock and Helen (Garrett) Bullock.


Bob was a 1971 graduate of Cumberland Valley High School, Mechanicsburg, PA. He enlisted in the US Navy from 1971 to 1977. Following boot camp in Great Lakes, Illinois, Bob attended Communications School in Pensacola, FL. From 1972-1974 he served at the Naval Security Station in Washington, D.C., and from 1974-1975 he served in Guam as he served the Naval Communications Station and the Naval Security Group Head.


Bob retired from the Naval Support Activity Base in Mechanicsburg after 36 years of service. He was a Communications Specialist for 10 years, an Electronics Technician for 23 years, and an Information Networking Technology Specialist for 3 years until he retired in September 2014.


Bob was known for his gentle, kind demeanor. He coached throughout the years when his kids played local sports – baseball, basketball, and soccer. He was recognized for his support and fairness to each athlete. He had a lifetime passion for music, as he enjoyed a wide variety of genres. He enjoyed polka music and polka dances, golf, Philadelphia sports teams, and evenings at the VFW playing bingo with family and friends. He spent many days with his family at Raystown Lake where they enjoyed boating and camping. He also enjoyed lake vacations with his family and extended family at Deep Creek, MD, and Smith Mt. Lake at his brother’s lake house.


In addition to his parents, Bob is survived by two children, Jennifer Yeasted (Gabe)of Ephrata, PA, and Tyler Bullock (Nicole) of Amherst, NH; spouse of 37 years, Diane M. (Likar) Bullock. Bob was blessed with three granddaughters, Emersyn Yeasted, Harper Yeasted, and Kennedy Bullock and one on the way. He was the proud uncle of 11 nieces and nephews. Bob is also survived by his three siblings, Gregory Bullock of Huddleston, VA, Brenda Hart (Donald) of Manheim, and brother Brian Bullock (Judy) of Harrisburg.


The celebration of life service will be held on Tues., May 14th at 11:00 a.m. at Gravenor Sipler Funeral & Cremation Centre, Inc., 100 W. Main St., Ephrata. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. before the service. His final resting place is in Woodsfield, OH.
