Rosita Bray

Remembering Rosita with Love... Rosita A. Bray, 82, of Ephrata, died Sunday, May 18, 2008, in Ephrata Community Hospital after a brief battle with cancer. Born in Monmouth, Warren Co., IL, she was a daughter of the late Benjamin S. and Refugio (Gutierrez-Mendiola) Almaguer, Her husband of 53 years, John A. "Jack" Bray, died May 21, 2006. She worked during her life as: a factory worker for the Formfit Co., Monmouth; a munitions worker for Silas Mason Co., Burlington , IA ; a general sales clerk, then an Estee Lauder representative while at Woodward Lothrop , Washington , D.C.; a sewing inspector at C B Trimming, Stevens, and as a sales clerk for Jan-Lan Crafts, Ephrata. Through their years of marriage they lived in the Canal Zone of Panama; Pittsburgh, PA; Washington, D.C.; San Antonio, TX; Arlington, VA; and after 20 years in VA, retired in 1986 to Stevens, PA before a final relocation to Ephrata. While a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church, San Antonio , she was active in the church Sodality, mission work and international relations. She arranged and hosted foreign Air Force pilots that they could enjoy Holiday meals in homes of parish members, exposing them to our cultural beliefs while giving us the opportunity to learn theirs. As a member of Our Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Ephrata, she was active in the Yearlings Club and also volunteered with Hospice of Lancaster County. Surviving Rosita are two sons, John, Ephrata, and Mark, Glendale , CA ; and a sister, Guadalupe "Lupe", wife of Harry Smith, Monmouth , IL . She was also predeceased by a son, Matthew; brothers Rudolph, Louis, Henry, Benjamin and Joseph; and a sister, Mary Posten. Viewing, Prayer Service Mass of Christian Burial... A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from OMPH Catholic Church, Church Pine Streets., Ephrata, on Thursday, May 22, at 10:00 AM. A viewing will be held from Good Funeral Home, Reamstown, on Wednesday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 PM, with a prayer service at 8 PM. There will be no viewing on Thursday. Final commendation and farewell in Cedar Hill Cemetery , Ephrata.
