Royce Ochs

Royce A. Ochs, age 65, Adamstown, Lancaster County, PA, died Friday, August 16, 2013, in an auto accident in Berks County on his way to work. Born in Ephrata, Lancaster County, PA, a son of the late Luke B. and Elva V. (Coldren) Ochs, he would have celebrated 5 years of marriage to Lisa Y. (Gress) Ochs on October 18, 2013. A 1966 Cocalico Union High School graduate, he received his B. A. in psychology from Albright College in 1970. Royce was a dispatcher and weigh master with Haines & Kibblehouse at their Douglasville quarry for over 40 years. A member of Swamp Christian Fellowship, Reinholds, he served on the consistory and was treasurer of the Willing Workersof the church. He and Lisa shared interests in Pennsylvania history, local artisan redware, traveling and dining out, especially trying new cuisines. He was an avid baseball, football and hockey fan, appreciated nature, caring for his gardens and cats. Royce was a true romantic and a generous, loving husband, brother and uncle. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a sister, Jerilyn, wife of Josef Dominek, Denver, PA; nephews, Derek, husband of Sarah Dominek and their children, Zoe, Jackson & Madison, of Warrington, PA; and Brent, husband of Wendy Dominek, and their children, Zachary & Alicia, of Sicklerville, NJ; and his father-in-law, Leon Gress. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 21, 2013, at 11 AM from Swamp Christian Fellowship, 390 Swamp Church Road, Reinholds, PA 17569, with his pastor, The Rev. M. Craig Snow, officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Denver, PA. Viewings will be held Tuesday, August 20, from 7 to 9 pm from Good Funeral Home, Reamstown, and at the church on Wednesday from 10-11 AM.
