Ruth A. Hersh

Remembering Ruth with Love... Ruth A. Hersh, 77, formerly of Lancaster, died Tuesday, October 4, 2005, in the Denver Nursing Home, Stevens, Lancaster County, where she resided for the past 25 years. Her husband, Harvey Hersh, died January 4, 2000. Born March 20, 1928, in South Heidelberg Township, Berks County, she was a daughter of the late Milton and Stella (Trostle) Buchter. She was employed as a waitress for Zinn's Diner, Denver, and had owned and operated Ruth's Beauty Shop, Lancaster, for 10 years, retiring in 1975. A member of Holy Spirit Lutheran Church, Lancaster, she was past president of the Lancaster County Multiple Sclerosis Society. Surviving is a son, Terry Keith, Windsor, Colorado; 2 brothers, Charles Buchter, Shillington, PA; and Leon Buchter, Reading, PA; 3 sisters, Estella McQuate, Adamstown, PA; Erla Walter, Denver, PA; and Viola Moyer, Shillington, PA; 2 grandchildren and 2 step-grandchildren. Viewing Service...There will be a viewing on Friday, October 7, 2005, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM from our facilities with the ceremony celebrating Ruth's life beginning at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in Conestoga Memorial Park, Lancaster, PA.
