Ruth Ann Nussbaum

Ruth Ann Nussbaum, age 61, of Denver, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, died unexpectedly at home on Sunday, April 20, 2014. Born in Denver, a daughter of the late Emory R. and Kathryn M. (Fry) Hirneisen, she was the wife of Earl J. Nussbaum for 36 years. She graduated in 1970 from Cocalico High School, Denver. An active member of Muddy Creek Evangelical Lutheran Church, Swartzville, she taught Sunday school, was a youth group advisor and served with the social ministries. Ruth Ann had worked for Sperry New Holland, was a 25 year 4-H leader and loved cooking and crafts. Ruth Ann was also very dedicated to the annual Denver Fair, having been active in many areas of the organization and operation of this special community event. Also surviving, in addition to her husband, is her son, Erik M. Nussbaum, fianc" of Jessica Berrier, Denver; a granddaughter, Zoey N. Nussbaum; and a brother, Donald, married to Mary (Eisenhauer) Hirneisen, Lebanon. The celebration of Ruth Ann's life will be held on Friday, April 25, 2014, at 10 AM from Muddy Creek Lutheran Church, 11 South Muddy Creek Road, Denver, PA 17517, with her pastors, The Reverends Nancy & Peter Schwabe-Fry, officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery Annex, Steinmetz Road, Denver. Viewings will be held on Thursday from 6-8 PM at Good Funeral Home, Reamstown, and at the church Friday immediately prior to the service. Contributions may be sent to her church at the address above.
